Teemu Ahola is a museum professional from Tampere, Finland. He acts as a head of collections at the Museum Centre Vapriikki. His work history includes museums such as the Finnish Labour Museum Werstas where he has worked as a head of collections and as a deputy museum director. Ahola has acted also as a chairman in the national network for collections management and contemporary documentation in Finland.
In 2013 together with the Finnish museums Teemu Ahola created the model of a nationwide division of collecting tasks. Today, approximately 100 professional museums are co-operating as a member of the model. The model is aimed to reduce the overlapping themes of collecting, pinpoint missing areas of collecting and thus strengthen the museums´ co-operation and collection profiles.
Teemu Ahola is highly interested in developing the collection management, processes and co-operation between museums on the national and international levels.
